Pittwater racing

Hi all, We have been sailing Pittwater in our Tophat mark 1 since 2001. Only recently did we found out the RMYC has a "Tophat" sailing division that races the first Saturday afternoon every month. We participated twice and were at the back of the fleet each time, but we were first of the Tophats as there was no other Tophat participating. We are not member of the RMYC but were made most welcome in this social group of sailors.
Greg Reid, gregreid@goulburn.net.au, organizes these races. Don't know what their position is on new "members", but if you are sailing on Pittwater and interested and able you might consider to get involved. We, on ABELTJE, would love to see a real tophat to compete with in this fleet. We are still an original Mark 1, "original", nothing has been done to improve her speed since we purchased her, but just love her. Most of the others are very fast racers.
If you could let me know if you contact Greg, that would be appreciated

G'Day Chris. I've seen your boat somewhere. Are you moored in Careel Bay or Clareville?

Not that interested in competing, but we're in Careel bay and have seen the Saturday races often. Never seen another Top Hat competing, except for the few we did with the Hawkesbury club a few years ago.

I will have to look up what records I have, but from memory that race was organised by the Top Hat Association
which had to dissolve into the RMYC over Yachting Aus fees and insurance problems.

Even in those days other yachts raced with the Top Hats.
