'Battle of the Ports'

Fellow Top Hatters,

Is anyone interested in a race series between Port Hacking, Botany Bay, Sydney Harbour, Pittwater and lake macquarie?

I propose that we hold the 'Battle of the Ports'. The winning boat/port gets bragging rights and a bottle of port.

International Racing Rules of Sailing should of course apply, however the race series can be held outside YA sanction (saves so much hassle).

We could hold an ocean race, fixed mark, or Olympic triangle - or any combination of the above for a series.

Any thoughts?

The only thing is... - it needs to be held in 2013 so my boat is ready!!

To avoid insurance problems we might need to make it a 'cruise in company' or have a yacht club sanction the event. The real problem is getting everyone together. But it would be fun if we can get it together. I am still awaiting word back from the HRYC about a Top Hat race this year. There is no reason that we could not make this the battle of the ports.
