Canola oil, no not for cooking, but for you o/boards motor. No, not to run the motor on. Speaking to Cohoe Marine about spraying power head, I was told to use canola oil in aerosol can ''natural product and cheaper". What do you guys think. I have a new 3.5 Tohatsu and 2 year old 8 hp Mercury, so want to care for them as best I can. Cohoe indicated there was nothing wrong with Inox, but suggested Canola.

Don't know about Canola but Lanolin spray works a treat.
I use it on my motor and just about everything else on the boat.
Great on locks, they never seize or get gummy either.
Turnbuckles, hinges, spinnaker pole ends, blocks, cam cleats, snap shackles, piston hanks on sails, goose neck fitting - you get the picture.
A can last me about 3 years.
All the best,
Tom
