Inside an ST1000 Autohelm

G'Day I pulled the autohelm apart as it was playing up and I thought you might be interested to see inside the unit and what makes it tick.
The problem was it would not operate and the unit would continuously beep. The cause seems to be a bit of corrosion on the plug pins. I'm yet to clean the socket and I suppose it too will have a dirty contact or 3.

Well, after cleaning the socket I found that the problem still existed. I then looked closely at the socket and they are a slotted socket. I closed the gap, (forced the socket closer) and that cured the problem. The plug is now firm in the socket. I think that has fixed it.
Now I've just got to find the "O" rings for the socket that are "somewhere in the boat" and I'll be "as flash as a rat with a gold tooth"!
