Winch Servicing

The Genoa sheet winch's on my mark 3 have been screaming (almost literally) at me for a service for quite some time, in fact after performing the service i believe it may be the first if not second service the winches have had since she was launched some 30 years ago!
The bearings on the starboard side fell apart as i removed the drum, but were quite simple to put back together after a clean. The pawl ratchets simply didn't want move, they were completely caked in in dried up grease/grime.
The whole bearing / ratcheting system looked like it'd been caked in mud and left for dead
Took a couple of hours of careful cleaning and replacing springs/ratchets but now both winches are clicking away quite happily, no more screaming
Couple of pics below
