Hi all,
I need a new anchor and I was thinking about a 30 or 35lb Manson, but they look a bit bigger than the anchor I am currently using. Is anyone using a Manson and if so, what weight anchor do you have and does it fit in the anchor locker (Mk11)?
Mark

I have a biggish Manson anchor, but don't know what weight it is. What I do know is that it's small enough to fit in the locker, but too big to pass between the furler and the middle rail on the pulpit.

Hi Mark,
On Night Cap, i have a 35lb Manson Plough, i think their excellent anchors & would recommend them. However my 35lb'er is overkill to the extreme it is hard to retreive, i do have 60m of 8mm chain on it which compounds the weighty prob.
It doesnt fit inside the anchor locker (mkIII).
On the plus side i have very high confidence in it holding which guarantee's a good nights sleep!.
imo the 30lb'er would be the pick to pick.
cheers
Shaun
ps, Thank-you for the TopHat documents (good stuff), will go through them & get the ones we dont have up on the site, cheers

Thanks Tom, I will take a look at it. I am pretty sure that I will get a Manson 25 or 30lb before my next Coastal trip (Probably to Sydney in late January).
Cheers,
Mark
