2nd hand mainsail

2nd hand mainsail

Postby tonyb » Mon Nov 23, 2009 4:50 pm

We have just purchase White Rabbit, a Mk3 Tophat from its home in Brighton. It is now living at Pier 35 at the northern end of Port Phillip Bay. She needs a lot of work as she has sat in her pen for nearly 3 years.

We have cleaned her hind quarters and started cleaning up inside. We are looking for a 2nd hand mainsail until the budget can allow us a brand new one next year. Can anybody suggest where I might be able to get one or does anyone have one they might wish to part with?

Regards

Tony & Karin

Hey Tony

That's great news that you got the E28.You won't be disappointed with the performance. I would love to see some before and after pics.

The new main is great and really has improved the performance of the boat, particually to windward. I don't have any pics yet but I will post them as soon as I take them.

Have fun tinkering.

Hi Tony ,Got Dullcibella back to Husky and have put in 4 very hard weeks on her , pulled out the motor and rebuild it ,its sitting on the bench ready to go back in next week all being well .
The chain plates and compression post including the sole have been rebuilt and fitted back in place ,bilge has been cleened and pumps made opperational "what a filthy dirty job that was" all the old electric's have been removed and i've started glassing up holes in the hull and deck , and forever cleaning out 30 years of yuck .
The keel bolts were loose so i sorted them out with dam big socket and bar , prop is out and i'm making repairs to the stuffing box ,still lotts to go before i get to the outside and start stripping paint ,question, do you have any suggestions for removeing enamel paint off fiberglass without distorying the gell coat .
Cheers Tony T
