Hi guys,
In early July Stellar will be lifted out of the water for some work.
The currently planned work is:
1. Replace all thru hulls and close off those which are not required.
2. Replace the standing rigging
3. Inspect the hull condition and repair where required.
4. Antifoul
Is there anything else you think I should look at?
Any spots prone for issues that I need to consider?
At the moment I have her booked for 5 days but may consider having her out for some more time.
Any input is appreciated.
Greetings
Daniel

Replace the four SS rod bolts to the rudder shoe and check the rudder bearing pad.
If you use a roller to put on your anti-foul most manufacturers require 3 coats.
Its generally only two 2 coats per 4lt tin, so put on 4 coats and you will lift next around 2023.

Hi Phillip,
Good point point with the rudder. Apparently it was leaking a lot of water last time she was taken out. May be worth looking into. As far as I remember there was someone else in the forum with water in the rudder.
Judging by the look I will also replace the bow roller and attachment for the forestay. Looks like the boat had a mild crash at some dock or so and there may be a bit of fiberglassing to do.
I’m not sure if I’ll get the boat antifouled by them or do it myself. Probably let them do it.
Also considering to get the topsides painted. I’ll get the mast out and replace the wiring and lights etc.
Should I give the mast girder some special attention?
Greetings
Daniel

If you have the mast out, yes as you might never ever have the mast out again!

Hi Daniel,
Did you add any further works to your list?
My partner and I just bought "REB" in Avalon and we plan to pull her out of the water in 3 weeks as well. I intend to do the through hulls myself and have the trades complete some other works including replacing all the fixed rigging.
Who did you have in mind to do the work? I will be doing the through hulls myself and plan on using the TRUDESIGN composite fittings and valves. Has anyone had any experience with those? Also, does anyone know the thickness of a Mark III hull?
Cheers,
Andrew
