traveler position

hi all, my traveler sits in the middle of the cockpit which is a pain with a few people on board, but the setup does allow for a dodger which is great.

the dodger has had it and I've taken it off to repair but now that it's off I'm considering switching the traveler to above the hatch where a lot of other people seem to have theirs and which looks like it makes the cockpit much more user friendly (apart from no dodger..)

There is an attachment on the boom that looks to be in the right place for a mid-boom mainsheet

What do people think? I do like the dodger for the sun/wind/water shelter but usually the boat has at least 3 people on board and the cockpit gets crowded with the current setup

- Where would I source a traveler for above the hatch?

- Does anyone have a dodger designed to suit a mid-boom mainsheet?

Thanks for the input

Cheers
Shea

Shea,
If you go into the photo gallery you will see photos of Mk1's and I'm sure you will see the original arrangement.

Or you could look at a Mk 2 or 3 and copy their more modern set up. Some Mk 1's have been converted already.

I don't think you will get the original blocks etc anyway as they were made out of bakalite.

And yes that fitting mid boom is the original attachment

I'll post photos for you later.
