Hatch over vee berth

Hatch over vee berth

Postby Killick69 » Wed Sep 16, 2015 7:37 am

The perspex on the hatch over the vee berh on Night Cap has truly fallen apart. The new Polycarbonate piece has been cut and I am trying to induce some curvature into it before I go to fit it. Is my boat unique or do other Top hats have the hatch fitted at an angle? The one hinge has been located forward of the other, so that when closed the hatch sits squarely in the opening, but as one opens it, the hatch swings at an angle. I cant see the reason for doing this. I am thinking of re-positioning one of the hinges, so that the hinge pins are in line (about midway between coach house roof and hatch). Comments please.

Bit hrd to understand what you're talking about without a photo or two.
