Hi All,

Has anyone got engineering drawings of the Mk2/Mk3 harbour bridge style mast step out there? I am thinking about up dating to stainless when I re-rig next year.

Cheers,
Mark

Mark,

No need for the drawings as I am in contact with the original manufacturer of the Mast Girders.

And yes he has done them in steel, SS and Aluminium.
His business, which is still going strong, started in his garage [long gone] making all the
girders, pushpits and pulpits for the Top Hats built by Formit Manufacturing.

He has promised me a ball park quote for the Girders and I will be in contact with him next week to hurry him along!

When I get these quotes I will post them as well as his full contact details for all to use.

These quotes are in preparation as well as him determining how many he has made.
This will give us a close build number for the Mark 2 & 3's.

Great work Phillip, I will look forward to hearing the details. Mind you, I wanted the drawing because my son in law is a fitter and said he would be happy to knock one up for me for a Christmas present.

Cheers,
Mark

I wonder if you could please provide the contact details for the manufacturer of the mast steps. I have inherited my father's 1981 Mark III and the step is severely rusted.
Thanks
Neil, with Novara

Mark and Neil,

I have had no reply from these guys so its time to post their details so you can all make direct contact,

When you do get a quote, please post it here so we can all see what they are asking for the Mast Girders. [bridge]

If you happen to speak to them could you please ask if they "Have found out how many they have made" for Phillip.

Hi all,

Here is the only drawing I have found [via Bear] on the Mast Step Girder.

As you can see we are missing Detail D153.

Hi all,
I have started making progress on Caprice to have her transported down south to Huskisson.
I removed the boom and mainsail and put away the spinniker poles and generally had my first poke around the boat as the new owner.

I have also emailed the factory(address kindley supplied by member Phillip) that makes mast girders.Waiting on a response.

Also I was wondering if anyone had any measurements or basic drawing with sizes of a MK1 mast girder so I could show a local engineering firm down this way in the interim, mainly because I am hoping to have the girder made ASAP so its ready when I drop the mast and remove the old girder(I didnt have a tape measure on the boat last week )

Thanks

Tony

Tony,

We have drawings for the timber Top Hats but not for the fiberglass versions.

Best give them a couple of days and then ring.

Just by the by, has anyone else brought a new girder from Central Coast Marine Installations lately?

Hi Phil

I think the deck camber on the timber Top Hat is the same as the glass Top Hats coachouse ?
