Alternative washboards

Alternative washboards

Postby Deepsouth42 » Wed Aug 15, 2012 6:02 am

Hi
In addition to having a ('b' list)proper frame to store my (existing MK1) washboards in a cockpit locker I'd like to make something a little family friendly that will keep the weather out, keep children in, and allow some communication between those in the cockpit and those below decks.
No doubt I am not the only seafarer who needs to wrangle kids and partners in blustery conditions...
'b' list=those jobs that are nice to have done but are not an actual barrier to going sailing.

In the top washboard of "Sea Monkey" I have a screw in 6 inch round plastic hatch. Ideal size to be able to still talk and pass small things through, cheap to purchase, and easy to install yourself.

Does this also allow you to reach the outside latch to stop cheeky buggers locking you in?

Cheers,
