Hmmm, this link has clearly gone off the topic... Seems\ed more useful in the absence of sweeping statements about personal opinion

Rod,
We explore all avenues on this website. You will find that out.
If it goes off topic you can easily pull it back. You have as much right as anyone else. We are also obviously missing the input from a vast range of experience of other people.
Of the many users registered not many offer an opinion. I don't offer myself as an expert in any way and I hope people don't think for one second that I am trying to do that. I also don't mind people offering their thoughts. Its for discussion and discussions take many twists and turns, exploring many different avenues.
I though we had done withthe topic of boat bags, but if there is more then please go ahead.

I think it's still relevant Brad.
See in afloat now that in Sydney Harbour they are trying to stop anchoring in Quarantine Beach and Many Cove. THe greenies think boat bags are bad, its all connected.
They're just trying to stop me from having a good time.
See the waterways map for Sydney Harbour and there are already restrictions on anchoring at quarantine because of the possible disturbance to the penguins!

God save us!

Spot on Greg,

I can show you older subjects that ended way way up left field but still gave us something to think about.

Rod, rest assured, if any posts leave the main subject of sailing Top Hats you will or may not notice that they disappear! That goes for the weekly spammers that try to get onboard.

Now to the subject at hand, I have noticed that the manufacturers have moved on and today you will find that the old boat bags are combined with lifting pontoons. I think the bag idea was just too hard to manoeuvrer a yacht into and they were easily subject to damage. Come to think of it lately I've only seen stink boats using them [no keel?].

PS. I'm an expert like you Greg. ;)

Phillip the only boat bag I've seen lately was at Lake Mac yacht Club in a pen on a J24 a few boats up from Azzura. I guess they don't work without the chlorine tablet in them.

I think greenies do a good job, but the fact that they naysay everything without offering a plausable alternative doesn;t justify their stance on many issues. We can't sustain development for development sake or for the financial gain of a few priviledged individuals.

Greg,

I agree with what you say. Where development abuses the system for a persons or companies gain and where there is a better way, the better way is how it should be done.

Enough on that.

DOLPHIN :

If you are talking about an article which appeared in Sydney Afloat ( still going ? ) , I would love to have read it . sailing boats are a visual positive for their ascetic lines and wonderful engineering they inhabit . To here that there was some conjecture regarding them being moored in Manly Cove ( near Sydney Ferries ?? ) is just plain nonsense . Considering the size of our waterways in Australia , I'd love to know how much damage ( if any , considering ) is done to the environment , or is it just a matter of other forces such as ratepayers in Manly , wanting to push their property values up !!! . Though having sailing boats moored in my surrounds would pleasing ( Broken Hill lol ) and I couldn't see how they would disturb property value anywhere ....

If it's the case of Greenies wanting a bit of " Intellectual Airtime " then they should just consider the form by which our Nation was born , through Sailing .....
