I managed to get a storm jib for just under $100 including postage. It is a little larger than the TH spec, but will do the job. The condition is not bad. I will need to remove the piston hanks and fit new grommets, then refit the hanks. On my Genoa I removed the bronze piston hanks and refitted them, but had success with 5 out of 10 (5 broke upon being refitted. I got bronze hanks from Whitworths. The storm jib I have just acquired has huge piston hanks. Anyone know if this is necessary or just overkill. Don't know if I will be able to source such large one and hate to think what they would cost. So will open them up with care and hope none breaks.
Any tips on opening and closing hanks much appreciated (Second Sail- Alan Barber website makes it sound like a walk in the park, but I did not find it so).
