I'm with Bear with this one on this. I don't worry with anchoring, I just run straight up on the beach or sandbar. With the tide going out, I am not going anywhere, I don't even need to use my old dog food tin full of concrete at the end of the venetian-blind cord.

as you say Phillip a mark 1 is a lot easier to fit bigger anchors on, on Nightcap i cut out the false bottom in the front to allow more chain and fitted a hawse pipe
