ply repair

ply repair

Postby Killick69 » Sun Jul 08, 2012 8:04 pm

Cut out a piece of the vertical ply between the starboard cockpit locker (Mark3) and the bilge (below cockpit floor level). There has been water ingress and the ply is damaged. I cut a piece of marine ply to replace the bit I cut out. I was planning on sealing all edges with Polyester resin, then 'glueing' the piece in using Polyester resin. Can/should I seal the edges with everdure first?
Comments and suggestions please.
Cheers, John

I don't know about using polyester over everdure. If they go over each other okay, I would probably everdure the whole board with special attention on the edges. All round protection. Then I would glue in, but I use epoxy not polyester.
