I replaced 6 chainplates on Night Cap (2 for backstay bridle and the 4 for the lower stays). not all needed to be replaced, but I did them anyway. Got them from Blackwoods on line and they delivered to my door in a few days. Cheap as chips. They have 316 and 304. They are rounded, not triangular as per the originals. I bent them to match the angle to accomodate the line of the stays and distance between centres was spot on. i think they came with nuts, but did not have backing plates, so I used the old ones. Could not find any off the shelf u-bolts to replace the larger ones used for the cap stays, but they were good. Some of the old u- bolts were badly corroded (nuts in many cases were stuffed).
In all cases where corrosion was an issues, water had leaked in from the deck.
