Sole Mini 2 10hp Lift pump

Sole Mini 2 10hp Lift pump

Hi everyone

I'm having a small issue with the diesel lift pump leaking fuel around the edges of where the lid is attached to the body.
It's a small pump which has a rubber diaphragm (has recently been replaced, so all good), which pushes fuel to the filter.
So because of this slight leak in the seal, the engine is losing prime and getting air in the system.

It seems a little odd in design as the lid is round and requires a seal all around the edges, but the screw holding it in place is at the centre. So not providing good enough pressure at the edges.

Looking at the user manual and spare parts manual, this lift pump is not mentioned at all.

I'm going to contact Headland Engineering in Brookvale on Monday, but wondered if anyone else has the Sole inboard and has any issues with the lift pump?
Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Also, is there an alternative lift pump that would do the trick?

The engine itself is in good order, so this external lift pump is a bit annoying. I'm not that mechanically minded but on a quick learning curve.
Many thanks in advance

Hi Dean, I know nothing about your motor, but would you be able to place a wider washer under the centre screw to reach out to the edges and put pressure on the edges that way ? you may need a few washers of different sizes to make it possible and maybe a longer screw. Hope it helps. .

Hi Frank

Yeah, that's another avenue I will take as I try things out. Trying to get the pressure to the edges.
I will give it a go, so many thanks for that.

Cheers
