Where did you sail your Top Hat today?

No sailing for a few weeks as I am in Kauai (Hawaii) with my wife for some R and R and a little surfing. Some beautiful old yachts anchored in Hanalei Bay at present. I guess they sailed up here to escape the predicted hurricane last week. It was more like an East Coast Low by the time it reached Kauai on Saturday; 35-40 knot winds and torrential rain for 24 hrs. Sunny and 90 degrees F today and the wind would be less than 15 knots this afternoon. Wish I had my Top Hat here, the sailing conditions are fantastic and sailing between the islands would be amazing.

Aloha

Only a few problems (broken block, old undersize sheets, small tear, lack of knowledge)but great fun. Not so sure about the advertising! Have some plans for some strategically placed repair tape. Can't wait for Saturday! 8-)

Not really sure as I dont have a log. Have been using Navionics on my dodgey phone which lags greatly and didnt save the track but from memory it logged us from about 3.9 to 5.4. A very different feel to the ride under spinnaker. Still grinning :P

had a great sail up to lake Macquarie and back over the last few days, a bit of swell on the say up, much less on the way back, it was great to get some more miles under the keel, and do my first bar crossing with jilpanger :)

Sam,
Great to hear Jilpanger is on the move again after sitting around for so long.

Seaka and Blue Moon went for a day sail up to Tacking Point from the Camden Haven Inlet on Sunday in perfect conditions, flat sea and around 10 knots of wind. :D
We did up to 5.7 knots on the way north but only got below 5 knots on the way back realizing that there had been a northerly current of about 2 knots.

Usually Shaun in Blue Moon beats me hands down but on that day we found Seaka's new mainsail left him for dead!
