Solitude Mk111 for sale
Posted: Tue Dec 21, 2010 5:20 pm
Guys,
The kids have won the battle and want a fishing boat that goes fast. I am looking to sell Solitude and overtime either tackle a project Tophat or Compass as a backyard project.
I have listed her on Yachthub
Basic Details below:
Tophat Yacht - Mk111 - Build 1990.
I bought this yacht approximately 3 years ago, after doing a lot of research and finally settling on a seaworthy yacht capable of coastal passages short handed. It has certainly proved itself, with some fantastic coastal passages some great overnights and always brings a smile to the face, and amazement with its ability to handle all conditions with ease. (Thanks to its full length keel and massive ballast ratio)
Spent two weeks in Sandy Straights singlehanded footage from the trip can be viewed on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fNU-Qs7sgc
I will miss this boat, but the kids wants a powerboat, and I want to restore a yacht project in time, so for now Solitude is being offered for sale.

The kids want a powerboat that goes fast and catches bigger fish, and I want a project yacht to restore in time. So for the immediate future are looking to sell Solitude.
Solid Clean Yacht – has been much loved, frequently sailed and cared for.
It is a seaworthy class and sails well above it’s size. Handles with ease coastal passages and others within class have crossed oceans and circumnavigated. It has crossed the notorious wide bay bar in atrocious conditions on two occasions without any issues whatsoever.
The boat is always being improved recent improvements (just in the last six months) include:
Recent improvements – in last 6 months (all done professionally by reputable local boatbuilders)
o New Stainless Staunchions and lifelines
o Wind Vane – Self Steering fitted – Navik / Plastimo Vane.
o Bow Roller – faired epoxied and repainted
o New Stainless Samson Post
Wind Indicator ready to be fitted. New Blocks for Boomvang purchased...
The Not So Fine Print:
Price is NOT negotiable. This is my lowest price. Or I can put it up and you can haggle me back down. Ha Ha. Seriously it is a very tidy yacht!!!! And is ready to sail without hitting the back pocket!
Boat is currently in Mooloolaba Marina, for ease of viewing and in anticipation of facilitating a quick sale.
Solitude will need a coat of Antifoul in the next six months, and a waterline clean / polish. I am happy to facilitate this – at your cost – or removal for survey etc.
Anchor chain needs replacing.
Always enjoy a good sail so happy to discuss delivery passage but very time poor, so limited in length of passage.
Email or call me if you are keen and looking for more photos or information.
