Noticed this on e-bay, FYI.

Thanks for putting this up Phillip. I just did the deal. I was looking for a symmetric spinnaker to complement my old, heavy weather asymmetric kite. Keep an eye out for Storm Petrel with her 'new' red kite. Looks like a spinnaker run to Sydney might be on the cards in the near future if these northeasters keep up.

I find that life gets very exciting as soon as we put up the kite, I have been planning to try an asymmetric for a while now to see if the excitement factor can be taken down a notch or two.

have loads of fun with the new sail.

Well the asymmetric is quite OK to about 15knots then it starts to become exciting. Do you find the symmetric causes much roll? That is my main concern.

Yes, the rolling can be pretty hairy, and it is usually at this point that I tell my crew to sit down and shut up. I have learnt to pre-empt the roll and keep on top of it, but it takes a good bit of concentration at times. I doesn't help that I don't have a downhaul and rely on the sheet to keep the pole down!
