Hi all my boat has all the fittings for a autohelm, two pin plug, what type would it have been? anyone selling their boat that wants to sell their autohelm,seperate??

Hi John,
I can tell you that a Raymarine (Autohelm brand ) ST1000 bought about '92 had a 3 pin plug in an inverted pear shaped plug. The third pin, the yellow wire, was for the "Seatalk" data cable.
It might be for a very old type auto helm or it has been modified.

John Ive got one I don't use Let me dig it out and I will let you know the model # .I know it must be 14 years old

The twin power plug is most likely for an Autohelm 800 model. There's a photo of one with a close-up of the round plug on eBay at

I have one of these old autopilots - it came with the boat. Had to get the fluxgate compass replaced, but it now works superbly - either using the compass or the windvane that came with the boat too. The Autohelm 1000 model is very similar but with a small read-out on the unit. I've wired up an ammeter to check the current draw, which is <0.2 amps in standby or on a steady course, and up to 1.5amps when the motor is working the wormdrive.

Hi John
Found my auto helm it's a 'auto 800 'in good condition .
It came with Egret II and I've never used it .I've owned Egret II for 14 years and I'm the second owner so I'm guessing it must be at least 16 years plus.So if you are interested let me know.
