"Saye's Rig" Self steering System, For Sale

Full System, including all fixings etc
In Very good condition, all parts except rudder arm in as new condition.

If your interested, research the system on the internet, or ask me any questions.
I have not used it, but have full installation manual & user's booklet.
Will post photos if there is any interest.

Reason for sale: This set-up is not really suitable for yachts thats have an outboard in the well :( , because the rudder arm would most likely hit the propellor, unless it is installed lower, which is not recomended. So its only suitable for inboard motored yachts.
I plan to buy an autopilot, & transom ladder.

$950

cheers

Since there was no response to the last inquiry just wanted to mirror what they asked. Has the Saye's rig been sold?
I know it's been a year but you never know and for $950.

The Saye's Rig is still for sale
(kendall32 was in the USA, I wasnt keen to package & send it there, he found another one in San Diego),
it has just been sitting in the garage since I took the above photos.

Hi Shaun,

Thanks for getting back to me.
I live in Forster, just down the road. My boat is in Sydney at the moment.
Its a Cav 32. I think the Sayes would go OK on it I am just trying to check that out and how much manufacturing I will have to organise to mount it
The main limit I can see is the length of the rudder tiller arm. How long is yours?
I wonder if the length of that arm influences performance. The helm on the Cav can be a bit of a handful in a following sea. It will be interesting to see if the Sayes handles it

Pete,
The rudder arm is 2000 long, the stainless steel brackets (that have red antifoul on them in the lower photo) are 410 long,....so the rudder arm would extend from back edge of the rudder about 1500 to 1590.

The length of the paddle is 2300, thats from the fixing point coupling to the bottom of the paddle.

Im at Bonny Hills, you are welcome to pop up to have a look anytime, or I could deliver to Forster no problems.

cheers
Shaun

I'll have a look through the installation manual to see if there is any other info that may help.
