I have recently bought a mk 1 in Scotland. I want to race the boat and want to know what are the official dimensions of the spinnaker for racing. Are assymetrics allowed? Any info about sails and handicap ratings would also be appreciated.

Is your boat timber or GRP? I think the timber boats in Aust are called Mk0 and the first GRP is called a Mk1. Others may correct me on this.

Hi again Wallace,

The figures I gave you are for a wooden Top Hat with a 31'10" mast made here in Melbourne.

Other drawings (thank you John Mc) show a mast of 28'10" and the following spinnaker dimensions:-

Luff and leech 28'11" foot 18' area 460 sq/ft.

Might be safer to go with them.

Cheers,

Tom
