Furler for Mark 111

As I am considering the purchase of a furler for my Mark III Toppie, I would like to gather some information on the make and models that are most suitable for this craft. Could I please ask for your input?

My Mk11 has an enclosed Hood furler with a continuous line. It was on the boat when I got it and has always worked a treat. I have rolled it up in 30 knots plus without a drama. I am sure any of the more solid furlers would be fine for a toppy.

G'Day Kevin,
I fitted a Profurl a long time ago to a Mk111 (Felicite) and it has worked faultlessly since 1993 without any maintenance. Recommended maintenance is to flush it with fresh water occassionally.
They're a great thing and probably the best fitting i've put on the boat.
It was installed by myself and fits over the forestay. It is a single furling line and you should allow ample for the drum. You will need to modify the luff of the sail as it uses a track instead of jib hanks of course and you will have to put a UV panel on the foot and one side of the luff. The storm sail was modified with rope ties in the luff to fit over the furled sail in case you can't get the genoa off the furler in a storm. A simillar idea to the storm sail mentioned earlier a few posts ago bit it just uses rope.
The profurl is a drab olive colour that looks like aluminium etch primer.
When you get it fitted make sure you put it to bed with a line lashed around the clew of the sail, then if the line releases the sail cannot unfurl in big breezes and cause the boat to sail away. It happens a lot in windy weather.
I think whichever one you get will be satisfactory. I haven't heard of many complaints about any of them.

I use the angle strap from an old surfboard leg rope around my furled headsail when it is on the mooring. Easy to apply and remove and large enough to be soft on the sail.
