Thanks to everyone for your help and advice. SAILED Night Cap today. There is peace of mind knowing it has been done correctly and satisfaction in knowing we did it. I can highly recommend John Denton of Whale Spars. They did the rigging and fixed the bow roller for me (drilling and welding). They are knowledgeable and helpful. They also made up a sheave for me.
Once again thanks everyone. Cheers, John

Well done John! Just in time for Australia Day!
Dulcamara will be ready tomorrow as well, much the same job, with a few extras.
Looking forward to getting out on Thursday.

We were out sailing today. Got well and truly soaked, but who cares. Not sure if we will be out on the water tomorrow. Not sure if I can endure another soaking.
Everyone have a good Australia Day.

I had hoped to get Storm Petrel out for Australia Day, but given the current level of precipitation I think I will keep my powered(and sails) dry. Look forward to catching up on the water some time soon.
Happy Aus Day to all including koala BEAR.

We were out. I had to pick Dulcamara up from RPAYC after the rigging etc to move her back to Careel.
We had friends with us, and after a dunking at about 10am, it cleared beautifully for lunch at The Basin, followed by a lovely reach out to Barrenjoey before turning back south to Careel Bay.
I've always said It's worth trying to go out if there is a sniff of good weather on the way.
Might even go back out tomorrow too!
Happy Australia Day!
