I've got black and grey mould on the boat too. White and green mould on the bread, pink mould on bathroom tiles.
I'm thinking of creating a landscape usng moulds.

It's the only form of culture I'm remotely associated with, and its chasing ME !

What have you tried to clean it off with? I had mould here and there when I got my boat but after I sorted out the rain water and other leaks the boat has remained dry (apart from the liquor cabinet) and mould free. Mind you, I try to get out for a sail every week so the boat gets aired out regularly as well.

John is that a flat head nail or bullet head nail? ;)

I used to wash the boat with vineagar in salt water. The salt would stay on the surface and kill the mould, but it would stay moist and in very humid conditions it would be wet. It worked but wasn't a good soulution. I use a slightly diluted vinegar and leave it on. Makes the boat smell fresher too.

I get black mould in the forepeak and grey mould on the timber. I don't sail it enough, no excuses.

Greg.

G'day,
When i got my boat i used Gumtion and cloudy amonia, cloudy amonia does kill the mould but it is pretty hard to breath, you can by it from the supermarket.

Vinegar also works on fungal nail and tinnea (wherever you have it)!

Cheers,

Tom
