Sydney Harbour NYE

Is anybody planning to sail from the Brooklyn/Pittwater area down to the Harbour in time for NYE? I'm thinking of making the trip (subject to weather!), but would like to sail in company with someone.

Bruce, I'm thinking about making the trip, just can't get a picture on what else is happening.

The rough plan was to come down on the 30th, find a berth at Balgowlah or Roseville because we have guests at home in DY on the night of the 30th, then go back to the boat on the 31st and find a good spot in either Farm Cove or near the zoo.

The trip down should be easy, it's usually a NE wind. Getting back is slightly more challenging unless you get an east or south later in the day.

Thanks Michael.

If I go, I'm planning to meet some power boating friends near Bradley's Head. Will keep an eye on the weather though. Getting home is the issue for me. I have to be back on new years day so there is no margin for poor weather...

I am in Sydney Harbour and weather permitting will be out for NYE.
Probably near Bradleys Head near the zoo.

Hopefully we will get some sunshine rather than what we ahve now.

If the weather lets me I make it down, I'll look out for you Diana. I can show you my boom awning sewing skills we discussed in another thread. Any resemblance to the one on sale at Whitworth's is purely coincidental!

Oh boy! I have been dreaming of being on the Harbour for NYE. I am still hoping, but it seems like the mast won't be back on by then. Maybe motor over?

If the weather is good I intend to get a possie a day or 2 early.
There are worse things to do in this world than sit on a boat at anchor off the zoo and watch the world go by.

Well, for a number of reasons (mainly time constraints), I have decided to take up an offer to do NYE on Sydney Harbour on a friends power boat, but will keep an eye out for any Top Hats!
