Hello John,
If you are not getting replies to your request for mast height, and at the risk of your being a mathematics professor, we could always resort to Pythagoras! Somewhere on this site, the length of the Top Hat forestay is given as 10.5 metres. I cannot remember where. We could always check this by measuring the length of a headsail luff and perhaps adding a bit on if the sail does not quite reach the mast top. All we need then is a measure from the base of the mast, running parallel to the deck and cutting the forestay. We'd need to subtract the little bit under the cut from the forestay length, but with these two measures, we can resolve for mast height.
The other method would be to attach one of those old style tape measures that used to make an appearance at the long jump or the shot put in school sports days (we have one lying around the house somewhere) to the spinnaker halyard and haul it up to the masthead. Anyway, I can try these on my Top Hat if you like. If you have already tried or rejected these methods, Sorry!
Cyril

Hi John,
Alan Coxson, commodore at Yaringa, just gave me a copy of some old articles predominantly on the MarkII. One page has the mast dimensions as 9400 from cabin top or 9650 from foredeck. It shows the spreaders as being 4720 from cabin top and the boom 800 above cabin top. I haven't checked these against my MarkIII so not sure of their accuracy. It is from a July 80 Sailboats in Review article.
Regards
Col

Hello John,
I sent up a tape measure on the end of my spinnaker halyard - my spinnaker halyard runs through a block fixed parallel to the masthead, so the measure is quite accurate, Adding on the length of the shackle and knot (17 cm or 7 inches) my masthead is 9010 or 29 feet, 7 inches above the cabin, This is slightly shorter than the measure given by Col. My Top Hat is a MK III. I hope this helps.
Cheers
