Gunwhale

G'day,
There is no toe rail as such on Blue Moon, (there is a rub rail about 125mm down from the gunwhale bolted onto the hull).
It is a fairly sharp edge(where the toe rail should be), which makes it suscetible to cracking (there are a few small cracks with the gelcoat cracking away) & makes it painful to stand-on with bare feet.
I guess I should grind out the cracks....how agressive can I be in this hull to deck area? then repair it with epoxy??
I would like nice high-ish toe rail or similar as a sure-footed area to stand if I have to go forward, any ideas?
cheers
Shaun
I'll try to get a photo & post it up later
