Hi Philip,

I installed the Wind and Depth wireless system about 5 years ago and love it. It was no problem to fit and best of all no wiring to the display! It's also great to be able to bring the display inside the cabin for security and ease of viewing if you are staying on board.

The TO 33 to my mind compromises the idea of wireless as the display must be wired in but I guess it is cheaper.

It comes with a marking out template for drilling the mast head and this would be fiddly working at the top of the mast. However, you can make a drill jig using the paper template and this could be clamped onto the mast head and so drill with confidence!

Cheers,

Tom

Hi Phillip,

It just so happens, I've got a xmas present TackTick wireless wind system under the bed, can't wait to get it installed, but I'm not brave enough to shinny to the top of the mast, and I'm not sure when I'm going to have the mast out, standing rigging replaced, harbour bridge rustproofed and painted (all of which appears to overdue).

In the meantime I've got strands of wool tied to my shrouds.

Can I watch you install yours first maybe?

cheers,
Allen

SO I'm only installing the tacktick speed/ depth while the boat is on the slip,
Wind system have to wait until discount time during sydney boat show :P
