Yacht Share - Tophat.

Hi All,

Would anyone be interested in a Yacht Share of a tophat based in the Whitsundays? Would be kept at marina Hamilton Island.

Along the lines of a syndicate of owners - shared initial purchase cost, annual maintenance and mooring costs and equally shared time aboard etc. Low stress - low cost.

A tophat would allow for this to be a low cost, but still enjoy the whitsundays without all the dramas or expense of chartering up there.

PM me if you are interested.

Karl

Hi Karl,

Sailing the Whitsundays has always been a dream of mine. I did get the chance to do it a bit earlier this year.

What sorts of costs are you talking about?

Surely a marina at Hamilton Island would be ridiculously expensive. There are Waterways moorings at Airlie Beach. Much much cheaper.

Hi Di,

Just trying to gauge level of interest at the moment... and get thoughts from others.

The marina at Hamo is about $8,000 pa, for a year, 8m monohull berth.

This cost shared amongst a number of owners certainly makes it more palatable.

I think once you start getting away from Hamilton Island - it takes longer to get everywhere, partners are happy living in the marina at Hamo - and you have the run of the resort - pools, cafes etc - and it makes for cheap sailing holidays...

Food for thought - welcome any feedback.

I have looked at professional legal agreements - which I believe are necessary to protect and ensure everyone enjoys.
