Jib Sheet Cars

Posted this before in a another section, but I don't seem to have got any further.

Sea Monkey does not have jib sheet tracks, instead she has cars that run along the full length of the toe rail. Most of the Top hats seem to have a more modern track on the deck that allows sheeting in a bit tighter. Anyway to be exact she has one car as the other one is missing! I had a bit of a look around, but I am unable to locate a replacement, does anyone know where I might find one? I have tried the second hand shop in Mona Vale. I have contacted a toe rail manufacturer, but they don't have cars for the same design of track!

I have also spoken to a fabricator and said I want 4 of them ... he is looking into it, but I have a feeling this may be expensive.

Does anyone have any better ideas?

I have included a picture below.

Regards ... Maggsy (Sea Monkey)

Maggsy,

Your last last resort may be to get a new one cast in bronze from the one you have.

Looks like the perfect time to put a couple of tracks on the deck and buy a couple of standard jib sheet cars. I think you will be able to point much higher if you can sheet your head sails further inboard.

Agree that it would be harder to point high - but hey how good would these be for reaching -- or even running with a pole out and the cars aft!! thats pretty smart.

I have the standard two tracks on ours... and find I need the adjustment that having both tracks brings for reaching and pointing.
