Trying to find a time to get there in between my PAC race on Sunday and the kids sports on Saturday. The better half thinks I want to go to buy another boat (why would I do that?) - but it's having a browse at the advances in the electronic gadgets and to see up close what the manufacturers are turning out that's interesting. It seems that today's production boats are either built to go as fast as possible with no comfort, or are designed to be floating palaces on the inside. Might get there yet....

Got to the fishing/Boat Show after all, along with two-thirds of Sydney. Had a look inside a Hunter 27 out of interest - big, roomy and with no character - and quickly jumped off again upon being told that the owner is asking only $95k for this 2 year old boat. New they are "only $115k" - how many of our boats does that equal?

I agree Rob,
I went on Saturday with my 15YO boat nut son. We did enjoy the lecture by Don McIntyre about the Bounty re-enactment adventure and saw Jessica Watson's talk and her flogging her book. (Yes we did buy a copy and my son is reading it). Went onboard the Benetau 50 odd and there aren't enough grab rails to get from the companion way to the fwd berth! I guess you just crawl across the deck in rough seas.
I enjoyed it, even the train ride from Lake Mac, because it follows some great waterways and you don;t have to play dodgems on the F3.
Just one question, how many outboard motors and fishing rods are there??
Greg.

Good evening everyone,

Went to the boat show on Sunday. What a great day.

Saw Jessica and spoke to her when she signed my book.

Went on board a great range of boats, Dufour, Hunter, Beneteau, Bavaria, X Yachts ($259k for a 30 footer. Craxy), etc... At the end of the day, I am happy with my Top Hat which can go anywhere and is so stable and reliable.

Here's an idea.

What about a new modern built Top Hat based on the same concpts, fully set up with chart plotters, hotwater, etc.

HI Guys

Used to do the tupperware show !!! The best boat show is drifting through the moorings with a beer in hand on a sunny afternoon.
