I would be gateful for opinions on a little problem with my tiller. When sailing my tiller always fovours the starboard side by about 20 Degrees, it had a autohelm fitted, could this favour that? any info please. But the boat steers straight and turns well.
Cheers John :D

Welcome aboard John,

What Mark is your Top Hat?

First thing to check is whether the bronze block, to which your tiller is bolted, is secure on the rudder shaft.

There is a 'key' to this arangement and you also need to determine if it (the key) is complete or worn.
There should be a solid feel to the tiller,it should not just flop a bit before taking up.

If this is not the answer, then it may be weather helm.
