Hi everyone,
I bought a Mk1 at Coffs Harbour in January, my first yacht.
I must have been lucky, as I had no idea what a Top Hat was, and now everyone tells me what great yachts they are.
Originally named Ngaloa, from Sydney, the previous owner renamed her "Wanipok", which is Thai for vagabond, or wanderer.
She came equipped with BMW D7 engine, 2 VHF radios, Navman tracker, depth and wind instruments, Epirb and many extras.
She is in very good condition, sails beautifully and is very stable.
I have been told by another Top Hat owner that she is a Baker built boat, probably built in 1960s.
If anyone knows the boat's history I would love to hear it.
My wife and I sail locally at Coffs Harbour at this stage and will gradually venture further afield, or a'ocean. We usually fit in 2-3 sails per week and are having a ball.
Lot of whales up here at present.
I'll post a pic in Pictures.
cheers,
Pete
