Come across a TH MK2 online she was lying on its side with some bow damage and no mast, anyone here pick that up? Aparently they sold it so it was saved.

Looking at some pics of various TH decks Im concerned about my traversing the deck with my protestic leg, im contemplating fitting rails bewteen the stanchions at the just above deck all the way around her, Im thinking coz my leg has a fixed foot with no movement like a real ankle, if I was to go tits up thatd be very uncool, losing a prostetic at sea, or physically slipping into the sea thatd suck too, so the rail will prevent that, I hope lol :)

Hi Tophat25mk2,

With moving from stern to bow in my old tophat when on the move, I relied on the grab rails on the cabin roof to hold onto. Would crab my way forward with a lean over the cabin. I was not ashamed to hold on tight. I found a bit of practice gave more confidence so I am thinking you will probably work out something which is comfortable and safe for you.

My old boat had toe-rails all the way along which I found did stop a lot of my tools from going into the briny when they rolled to the edge. However, I did lose some so I guess there is always risk. A suggestion: you may be able to run some fine netting along the edge and about 8 inches high or something just for extra protection. Some people with pets on board use strips of netting to stop them slipping into the water through the safety lines.

Anyway, all the best with working out some solutions.
