Bonding with San Felice

I mentioned that I was new to the forums and am giving an update. The yacht I will be taking charge of is the "San Felice". Had a look over it a few months back and now in the 2nd stage as I'm going to Sydney this weekend to check on her. I'm currently having the main sail repaired. She's being slipped for clean and anti-foul this weekend then new rigging with furler on Monday. Survey for insurance that week. Then I'll get the genoa adjusted for the furler and a lazy jack boom bag made. The Yanmar motor wasn't working as I found the starter motor seized so took it back with me to Brisbane and got it going. Will re-install starter motor next week but before I try to start it I'll change out the air filter, oil filter & oil, air cleaner and water pump impeller. Drop the fuel and replace with new battery, fuel and filter then cross my fingers. Will look at installing a solar panel to charge the battery as it won't be until after Christmas that we will sail her.

Looking at leaflets etc on board I saw the name "Maininki" written on a radio telephone handbook, could that be San Felice's original name? San Felice is a Mk1.

Hi Brett, sounds like you are getting a heap of things done on your boat. What with hull cleaned, motor going (hopefully) new sail and rigging and furler, she will probably be faster than she has been for ages.
cheers

Thanks Troppo. When I get back in a week and a bit I'll update what I've done. :D

I think that is correct Brett, I seem to remember that name from some time ago. Don't know if its the original name.

Do a search of the post here and you may find her.
