Propellor Design

Phillip,
Looking at your photo of Seaka's prop, I have two questions. Did you modify the deadwood upstream of the prop to improve the flow, or was that as-built? Is your prop shaft on a taper? (Might be an optical illusion, but the prop shape looks like it is better for astern than ahead.)

Ian,

You will find that construction on all Bakers' early Mark 1's.
Only really disappeared when Formit started building Top Hats.

Yes the prop is on a taper with a key. It's a standard 13" prop from a firm in Sydney [can't find their name at this moment].

Going astern she has nowhere the drive compared to when going forward, so no, prop is for going ahead. :|
