What did you do for or to your Top Hat today?

Or, what did you organize today for your Top Hat?

This theme has been running on another site and has dawn all sorts of interesting posts.

For example:

Tomorrow I am buying a AIS antenna for Seaka, having brought [for $189] an AIS Reciever at the Sydney Boat Show.

And next week I'm starting on the preparation for the repaint of Seaka's interior white painted surfaces.

So what's happening out there folks??

The Outboard Bracket for Oberon is currently off the boat and being recreated as the old one was rotted out

I plan to modify the SS pushpit on Seamonkey to allow the self steering windvane counterweight to move freely. I am also going to make a "holder" from pvc pipe which will be used to hold a windvane above deck level as I am sick of the birds breaking masthead vanes. Another job that I must do is install a new forward hatch that I have had sitting for months, the list is neverending......

Bent a beautiful new No2 genoa with luff foam onto the furler last week and christened it at sea last weekend. This week I intend to change the two 15mm sheets for a single sheet of 12 mm double braid. This should get rid of the bulky bowlines that catch on the standing rigging during tacks. Hope to try it out when I take Storm Petrel out to sea again on Friday.

Today....well this week
Set up spare autohelm-this involves coming to grips with some electrical issues...
Repaint the boat hook ...damn the 'repaint' list is kind of fluid in an exponential way
An right now I have to put the kids in bed.
and there is the slip and antifoul looming...

Well, The winter works program is still going.
We stepped the mast and had new rigging installed. while it was down all the mast jobs are being done.
new halyards
new LED lights, new combined deck and steaming LED light and 360 anchor LED light
new electrical wires
lazy jacks and boom bag installed
and she had her bottom scrubbed and anti fowled
today its flush the fuel tank (we got a bad batch of fuel- full of water) and to see if I can get the GPS to talk to the Radio through the NMEA0183

Well,

I had Woody from SPECTRA MIST on board yesterday and we discussed bringing all the lines back to the cockpit.

After looking at photos of SPECTRA MIST we came up with a plan for SEAKA. Just have to check what type of pulleys I've got at the mast top.
If I've got wire pulleys it means that mast would have to come down so I can replace them.
This might not be to bad as my rigging is around ten years old now and due for replacement.

When I got home I priced it out using spectra rope came to $1672 and if I add a boom bag call that $2100. Rigging is extra!

So I'm looking for any unused 3x rope clutches [two required] out there? If I can get some good second hand ones this will become feasible.

I reckon I'll need a roll of 10mm spectra and that's $500 alone unless someone knows of a cheaper source.

Oh, and tomorrow I start the sanding prep for painting inside.

Today Monday,

Got into the sanding back of the old dulux paint in the fore cabin.
This is a real effort, will post photos tomorrow of what I'm doing.

Finished off the day by jumping in the water [20] and cleaning the prop.

Just finished in time to go ashore ahead of the arrival of the strong hot SW wind.

Been a beautiful day here on the Camden Haven.
