Hi All,

It seems from the preliminary polar diagrams that a 'Beam Reach to Broad Reach' are the fastest points of sailing.
So in a case of say 20kts of wind on a Broad Reach, would it be wise to take a reef in the main & put up a #2 jib(assuming no jib furler), or simply have everything up including the galleys tea towel? (say sea & swell are moderate, & no storms are expected)

Same question again as above, but on a Beam Reach?

All fine until maximum hull speed is reached and then no benefit...
