I just found a youtube video of Jamie Mitchell on Possibilities rounding the Horn. For anyone who has not seen it, a google search (videos) of, 'Cape Horn on Possibilities' will bring it up.

Some of you may have already seen this - a 6 minute interview with Jamie as well as some footage of his Top Hat "possibilities" sailing just before his rounding of Cape horn.

Anyone know the make of windvane jamie has on his tophat?

I think it was mentioned in the Cruising Helmsdman article. I can't remember off hand.

Cruising Helmsman article says 'an extended QME windvane, on the stern, with lines led direct to the tiller'.

Looking at all the photos and Cape video, he has removed the rudder, so is relying on lines to the tiller only as Tom said.
