Spent a night on a mooring there in a Sth'erly (no where near as strong as in your vid'), got as sicksick as hell:cry:

Checked out some of your other videos, I started a lawnmowing run on Northern Beaches in '83, sold it in the nineties & started tree work, suggest you get some gel gloves mate, I get pins & needles in my hands now whenever I use machinery.

I was out sailing on the 9th, and it was a glorious sunny day with decent westerlies.

10th, we went out on the ferry to the city, in the middle of that blow. There was a wave hit the bow of the ferry that washed over the top foredeck. We apparently were on the last ferry for the day, they cancelled them after that.

Huge fun.

My wind instruments on my boat on lake Macquarie recorded max gust of 64 knots !!!

John, was that about 2pm on Friday? I was watching Felicite and the spray was being picked up off the water. That happens when the wind is more than 50kts.
The house boat next to me lost 4 sheets of plywood because they weren't held down. Foolish, they knew it was coming for a good few days. There were about 3 or 4 boats had their furlers come open and shred the genoas.
I put an extra strop around the mast to the deck cleat just in case it gave way. All I lost was the bird stopper VB cord on the boom came undone.

You mean like this pic I took on Friday afternoon at Botany Bay Yacht Club?

It wasnt raining at the time, the haze is the wind taking the crests off the tops of the waves.

I watched one boat sink and there was severe carnage on Kograh Bay (at least 5 boats ashore and about 10 dragged their moorings).
