Hi all,
Nice to see all the new discussion happening on this busy site. I have been rather busy lately doing a few refurbishments on our Mk3 Papillion and thought you might be interested in what I have done. In essence I removed the starboard side of the interior and reworked it as per the pics. Removed the old hand pump toilet head and replaced it with an electric TMC toilet. Located it in the same space but faced it towards the centre. Built a 35 litre fibreglass holding tank and located this into the cabinetry. Toilet pumps to the holding tank which gravity discharges when out sailing. Works like a dream. Removed the old ice chest and table area and built new cabinet to conceal a new refrigeration system. I bought an OzCool eutectic system (Melbourne manufacturer cost $1760) and built a new 75 litre ice box to hold the eutectic tank. Built the ice box using two thicknesses of 30mm Multipanel again ex Melbourne manufacturer. This product has an extremely high R value and I fibreglassed the chest in and out with three layers of chopped strand matt. I have not noted any external condensation occuring on the exterior of the chest which makes me think the chest is really working well with very little heat/cold transference. I set the eutectic fluid to a refrigeration level rather than a freezer level and in our circumstance, I am able to leave the fridge running 24/7. Refrigeration unit has been set to cut in at -4 and cut off at -7 degrees C. This keeps the chest cold in a range from -4 to +4 degrees between cycles. The refrigeration unit pulls about 5amp when on and generally stays on for about an hour twice a day. This means I am getting refrigeration 24/7 for around 10amphrs a day. Really wrapped with this outcome. This is Nth Qld temps over winter and I will be interested in seeing what difference will occur in Qld summer temps. All my electrics, including the fridge, run off an 80watt solar panel which really makes me happy. These OzFridge systems are super efficient and I am wrapped with the outcome of this installation. The Multipanel product is really great to work with although the 30mmpanel cost $450 out of Townsville for an 8x4 sheet.

Hey that is great work... I really like your set up and your work.

Thanks Karl, Must admit, I'm a bit chuffed.
