Shaun
Is correct
Insurance is not a big problem. We will not be racing with Spinnaker, just Head & Mainsail.
Most Marine Insurance policies cover you for NON Spinnaker races and have a minimum cover of $5000000 (if not more).
Just check your policy.
Don't be put off from coming along.
If you can't sail there, why not come along and crew?
7 Starters so far, more needed :D

Auriga is on her temporary mooring in pittwater awaiting next week's action :D

Was a long day, 4 hours from north head to barrenjoey with a nice tail wind, but lumpy swell :(

Looking forward to seeing everyone next weekend!

Hey Dan,
Where are you moored up?

Shame I won't be there for the Regatta, having a weekend away on the motorcycle with some likeminded friends.... which was arranged before the Regatta!!! Dang and blast....

She's in church point at the moment, though will be relocating elsewhere after the regatta, not exactly sure where yet though!

Neat, there aren't many choices of Marina moorings, I had the choice of Holmeport and Careel Bay and chose Careel because they treated me nicely. Although the surroundings and services are "rustic" to say the least, parking is easy and the access if you use your own dinghy is brilliant, regardless of the tide.

If you're still about the week after, let me know and we'll hook up for a bite.

Top Hat Regatta 2010

Postby transfit » Tue Mar 16, 2010 3:31 pm

Good afternoon everyone,

My crew has pulled out for the race on Saturday. At the moment I am left with my son, but if there is anyone looking for a ride and to attend the weekend, you can let me know on 0400 574563, and we can arrange pick up.

Also, on Sunday afternoon I was off Avalon and we saw a Top Hat heading to Barrenjoey. I suspect it was Auriga. I didn't get a picture. It was a touch lumpy in the 1.5 metres swell and 1 metre waves. 4 hours from North Head to Barrenjoey is a good time. You would have had it on the tail all the way.

Cheers.

For those boats racing on Saturday and do not have Sail Numbers.
I suspect that we will all be close together at the finish, therefore to assist the Starter in recording placings.
Before the Start come past Mija and receive a coloured pennant to fly from your Backstay or Port Stern Quarter.

Tom
Probably was us, there were not many other boats coming up the coast that day, and yes was quite lumpy.. ended up pulling down the headsail on the run in to barrenjoey as the wind was right on our tail and the headsail flappy useless, also had the main in tight as with the swell and lack of weight in the boom, was just trashing the rig with each up/down/side to side

Denis, we should be there early, was planning on sailing down that way on friday and spending the night closer to brooklyn. Will give you a shout
