5Yr plan - am I crazy?

CT results summary

Postby di_namic42 » Wed Dec 11, 2013 8:49 pm

After a bad day yesterday, I was so sick this morning I rang a friend with a car on the mainland to take me for my scan, and a blood test. No tarceva today, I just could not face it, and from the nausea and generally awful feeling I would guess my liver counts are up again.

So .... the primary tumour has shrunk to about 1/4 of its size and cancer nodes and metastases in lymph nodes are shrinking. so the mission to buy me some time is working.

The uncertain news is a hypodense lesion in the liver. Lets hope it is a benign lesion due to ingesting the toxins that are chemotherapy and not a possible spread of cancer.

I will know the path forward on monday after I see the oncologist. I don't mind ultrasound and MRI, but I hear liver biopsies are VERY painful.

Hi Guys / Gals ,

I have offered my Mk1 Top Hat to Di for a week / weekend , for which she may take up the offer in January . Not for notoriety , just out of respect for her long contribution to this forum , and battle with Cancer , for which my family has suffered from personally .

What I do ask for is contributions from the Pittwater TH Forum members is help in making this offering come to fruition for Di , by way of a tender , available to her during custodianship , and any other way you may oblige , I know Miker , was Generous to me , in allowing me to go Sailing with him a couple of years ago , so its time to pay forward ...

Tender is available, as is services as a skipper, supply agent, depending on what you need. I'm moored in Careel Bay, northern end of Pittwater, but the tender is at home and transportable, with an engine.

Over Xmas , I am organising the next few months....go to Bali with my sister,

I will organise Pittwater trip around my sisters holidays and Bali trip and buying van and setting up.
Sounds so wonderful. Thanks for the offers miker, maybe we could travel in tandem? Having my own space when I am not feeling well is great, but on the other hand that is when I may need company. Let's talk and explore ideas.

The pitwater area is totally unknown to Queenslanders. On yachthub there are Twice as many yachts in NSW as in QLD. I am amazed.

Hi Di.
Brad was in touch with me just after I contacted you re. the makeover video.
He is working to make sure you have backup!
I have sailed his yacht, live near his mooring, work nightshifts, so would be available to play taxi back & forth + spare accomodation if weather turns nasty.
When dates sorted, contact me privately for phone nos. details of times, locations etc.

Share that special diet around I sent you.
Check this vid. as well.

Great test results!

Good news everyone!

Good news: My latest CT scan shows all of my tumours ( multiple lung and lymph nodes) are shrinking whilst I am taking the daily chemo drug Tarceva so we are buying me some time. The liver mass is benign and not a metastases. So maybe, this isn't my last xmas. I am allowed some red wine over xmas , even if it tastses like vinegar due to the Tarceva, but no sugar and only the tiniest piece of xmas cake.

Bad new: I have to keep taking the Tarceva until it stops working (the cancer find its way around the drug eventually). So I have to learn to live with feeling blah, and the fatigue and all the other side effects, not knowing when it will stop working. My oncologist has 2 patients that it is still working for after 2 years.

I have purchased a toyota hiace super long wheel base van (subject to RACQ inspection) and will be kitting it out ready to travel. As things usually take longer than I think or want, my guess is that i should be on the road late january ( yes, I'll stop, visit camden haven and say hello Phil), and down in the Pittwater the first week of February for taking up your generous offers and sailing, camping and touring around. This is still slightly flexible, but my best quesstimate. ( And I may even start looking at boats again ..... Sigh!!!)

I have to be back in Brisbane on 25 Feb for my diesel engine course, radio operators course and a medical appointment. ( Geez, I am not giving up am I?)

Does this suit everyone? Any thoughts, suggestions or recommendations? I am so looking forward to meeting you all!
