Hi all,

I'm actually interested in the Aluminium Top Hat ( or not Top Hat) in Tassie as I'm in Devonport.
I'm hoping to head to Hobart this coming long weekend to look over it and if it's all good I may just buy it or I may just report back.

I've been debating about a Top Hat 25 V a Columbia 27 as I like the Sea worthiness of the TH 25 but the interior space of the Columbia 27. This Aluminium TH at 27ft is possibly ticking both boxes, TH sea worthiness and 27ft interior.
I'm unsure about aluminium but I do know this boat was originally the Davies Brother who owned the Tasmanian Mercury News paper and there were defintitely not short of a quid so any boat of theirs would be a deecent decent build and proposition.
I'm also told aluminium doesn't lie so if it has electrolysis then it will be noticeable but I'll inspect her soon and report back.

I have no idea about aluminium but with correct procedures it certainly is worth looking at.
