Thanks Troppo, very interested in your approach. Please let me know how it operates in practice.
My original thought was to site the windlass behind the locker lid, with the hawse pipe leading directly into the locker - thereby giving additional strength to the mounting of the windlass.
In terms of holding the anchor on the roller, I have bought an extension so as to accommodate the extra length of a Manson Supreme anchor (to replace the old CQR that fits in the anchor locker). This way, once installed, it can reside there permanently until deployed.
