Well done Aaron,

How are you going to raise the mast?

Awesome work Aaron!

Great to see the effort you put into ya boat. The thing I reckon, as I calculate the too-many hours I have put into Windchaser, is that fundamentally the Top Hat is a darn good boat, might I even say a great boat, so it's worth while with the time and money invested. Sure, it is still an old boat but the longer I have had my Top Hat and more I do to her, the more I think Top Hats are fantastic.

Have fun sailing.

Louis

Raise mast? If Aaron just uses those kite sails things he won't need to raise the mast will he?

Thanks guys!
Well bringing it down wasn't so hard but now it's another story and it's bloody heavy hahah
I think the plan is to bolt down the new mast step on a bed of epoxy and raising it using the main halyard on my dads boat wrapped around my spreaders. With another person on the wharf to pull it away from dads boat and anther to line it up in the step as we lower it. But also having the stays with rope so we can adjust it so it doesn't swing around.
Cheers

Well, I'm chickening out of all the hard cheap methods.

The Hi-ab [on the rear of a truck] with a 14m reach will lift my mast out on the 10th. :D

Will post photos after the event!
