AND MUCH APPRECIATION GOES TO ...

Hi Guy's ,

Today I met with Miker at Manly Wharf with my 8 year old son Jeremy , to inspect a Mk1 Top Hat David Bray Yacht Sails has listed at Pittwater . Although it was a nice original sailboat , it's layout was not suited for my family needs . We then proceeded to spend the afternoon sailing on Pittwater , on his beautiful Mk3 Top Hat " Dulcamara " . My son Jeremy took control ( Mike supervised ) for a time , and where Michael showed me the ropes so to speak !!!

His Mk3 is perfectly suited to family sailing in my mind , and i will be seeking a similar set up in the near future . So Much Appreciation Michael , for being the Gentlesalt you are , and providing a keen prospective Top Hat owner a joy filled afternoon spent appraising the quality of the Mark , and time spent with a great character such as yourself , that take great pride in sailing and owning the best 25 foot sailboat ( Top Hat Mk1-3 ) , in Australia ....

Much Appreciation ,
Brad Geyer

Brad, you and Jeremy are most welcome. It's a shame the Mark 1 wasn't up to what you want. The other one we saw had potential too, but keep looking and you'll find 'your' boat.

I'm looking forward to seeing the pics of you and Jeremy when you get to post them.

Have a great trip back to Broken Hill.

That's a lovely post, Brad. I'm glad to hear of your positive experience, especially considering it includes your son's introduction to sailing. Bet he will never forget that. And good on ya Miker for doing what ya did. Awesome.

Hi Guy's ,

Jeremy and I had a great time , the whole day was a new adventure for Jeremy as it was his first time in Sydney CBD and Ferry travel . So at times his senses were truly overwhelmed , and he became quite anxious at times , when we walked along York Street heading down to Circulay Quay he was impressed by the enormity of the buildings , given the size of buildings in Broken Hill , he must have thought it was a dream.

The Mk1 would have been bought by me ( appealing price ) , if I was single . It is such a nice original Top Hat and would suit my sense of heritage , and love for boat design if not for the family requirements . There are a few things I'm tossing up at the moment , such as inboard or outboard as an auxillery power source .

As Michael was the perfect host yesterday , I extend my hand to you mate ( and Forum Members ) , in the form of accommodation if you are ever traveling through the Hill ( again ) .

In Appreciation ,
Brad

DULCAMARA ,

SO SUITED TO MY FAMILY REQUIREMENTS , IN ITS LAYOUT , AND PRACTICABLE USE . WHICH I'LL BE SEEKING SIMILAR , IN THE NEAR FUTURE .

MUCH APPRECIATION GOES TO MIKER FOR BEING A GREAT HOST ON THE DAY , AND ALLOWING MY SON TO ENJOY WHAT WILL BE A COMMON WEEKEND EXPERIENCE . BG
